ABOUT
Connect Adventures is proud to bring the Gidjuum Gulganyi Walk (meaning "Old People's Track") to life with a guided 4-day/3-night hiking experience that journeys through the ancient caldera landscapes of the Tweed Hinterland. This specially curated event will combine a wilderness hike with a culinary journey focusing on local and native ingredients. Since the walk's launch earlier this year, we've welcomed guests onto an immersive hiking adventure that fosters a deep connection with nature, a sense of adventure and a deep respect for culture.
We will journey through the traditional lands of the Widjabul Wia-bal and Minjungbal people of the Bundjalung Country, home to the world heritage-listed Gondwana rainforest of Australia, with its diverse ecosystems and awe-inspiring beauty. It's a premium experience with professional guides and a focus on quality food, produce and beverages from the Tweed region throughout the tour.
As part of Savour the Tweed, Connect Adventures is collaborating with celebrated Bundjalung chef Mindy Woods to headline the first dinner of this walk. She joins you on Sunday at your first campsite to cook dinner using locally foraged native ingredients over her camp stove out under the stars, along with some insightful & meaningful storytelling.
