About
Start the day bright and early strengthening community engagement at our vibrant weekly market. Gather around as we kick off Savour the Tweed 2026 with the official opening at 10am by the Tweed Shire Council Mayor, Tweed Tourism Company and Destination North Coast.
Recognised for its important role within our community, market manager Kaisa Kilponen has created a Tweed Taste Trail market map for you to wander at leisure. Meet the local farmers, producers and stall holders with interactive tastings along the way. She’ll also be leading a Taste Trail for school kids, watch out for that.
Look out for artisan cheese maker Deb Allard who’ll be offering tastes of her handmade cheeses, served with sourdough from neighbouring stall Crabbes Creek Wood Fired Bread. Kaye at Tweed River Pecans will be demonstrating how to crack open pecans from their shells, discover local hand crafted Contento Chocolate and have a taste of one of the seasonal fruit beers from Murwillumbah’s Caldera Brewing and Blending.
Meet chef Jonathan Evans (ex- Juju’s Café), a familiar face at the market who’ll will be doing a cooking demonstration around 10am at the bell tent – Seasonal & Savvy - creating a delicious, budget-friendly family meal using fresh seasonal produce from the market. Pick up simple cooking ideas, learn how to make the most of seasonal ingredients, and enjoy delicious tastings along the way!
There’s a lot going on, so make the most of your morning. You can join the locals at the bell tent for a picnic offered by Lulu Blue's Kitchen and support the resident food vendors having breakfast at the market. Choose from OKI Japanese foods, toasties at What a Mess, globally inspired breakfast plates at Taste Without Borders, chia pudding at The Ripe Side and tempeh skewers at Tempeh Temple. Help to celebrate and experience the Tweed’s rich and evolving food history and culture.
