Pack your picnic rug, gather your family and friends, and join us for a relaxed afternoon of groovy live music, local art, delicious food and community connection at beautiful Salt Central Park.
Set against the stunning backdrop of Salt Village's parklands and nearby beach, the Salt Village Community Picnic is a free, family-friendly event celebrating the people, flavours and creativity of the Tweed. Enjoy an afternoon of laidback entertainment featuring live performances from local musicians, free children's activities, interactive games, art experiences and special food offers from Salt Village retailers.
Visitors can view a selection of portraits from acclaimed Australian photographer Rob Palmer's Entwined exhibition, which celebrates the faces and stories behind the Tweed's vibrant culinary community and has been a standout feature of this year's Savour the Tweed program.
Bring your own picnic or purchase takeaway from participating Salt Village businesses.
Note this is an alcohol free event, although guests are welcome to visit Salt Bar & Grill for refreshments.
A free water refill station and complimentary sunscreen will be available at the event.
Dogs are welcome but must remain on a lead at all times.

Fresh off 3 consecutive years at Bluesfest, Jerome Williams has supported major national and international acts. Fusing percussive guitar, soulful vocals, hip hop, funk and rock, he has supported major national and international acts. Peter Noble (Bluesfest director) called Jerome one of the finest guitarists he's heard.
Birren is a local artist from Fingal Head, who blends coastal sounds with warm grooves.
Nu Farrago will bring the dance-party vibes, with a fresh take on some iconic favourites.

There’s plenty of fun in store for little picnic-goers, with lots of free activities throughout the day.
From colourful butterflies and fierce tigers to magical fairies and superheroes, face painting will transform little faces into works of art. In our creative craft corner, kids can get crafty creating their own artwork and handmade treasures to take home.
Step right up and join the circus adventure! Kids can learn juggling tricks, try circus skills and get involved in interactive activities designed to keep everyone laughing throughout the day.
Watch shimmering giant bubbles float through the park and join in the fun as kids help create, chase and pop bubbles of all shapes and sizes in this interactive and magical experience.

There’s also a family-friendly Treasure Hunt with a prize of a $150 Season Restaurant voucher to be won!

A range of picnic goodies will be available from Salt Village food retailers, including delicious Açaí cups, bao buns, burgers, fish and chips and Indian curry.
Note: Due to licensing requirements, this is an alcohol-free event, although guests are welcome to visit Salt Bar & Grill for refreshments. A free water refill station will be available, so bring your reusable water bottle.
