Entwined – Faces of the Tweed

  • M|Arts Precinct 105 Wollumbin Street Murwillumbah, New South Wales, 2484 Australia (map)

About

Step into the revitalised M|Arts precinct (enter from Wollumbin Street) where artists and art lovers come together to shop, create, eat and drink. For the opening day of Savour the Tweed 2026, we are celebrating the food connection and culture, the people, produce and stories of the Tweed with a major photographic exhibition ‘Entwined’ by acclaimed Australian photographer Rob Palmer, a snapshot of the many Faces of the Tweed. The intersection of people, food, place and process makes his work uniquely suited to capturing the community and personalities of the growers, producers and culinary talents in their work environments, from farms to workshops, studios and kitchens – those who live and work in the Tweed on Bundjalung Country and who shape the Tweed’s thriving food and drink culture.

You’ll experience firsthand curated artist and producer conversations, hosted by the talented and engaging Magdalena Roze as MC, with a local DJ taking to the deck to spin some cool tunes and fun vibes. Ponder the stories behind the personalities of the exhibition’s portraits, exploring shared ideas, shared experiences around craft, sustainability and regional identity, the driving forces behind our culinary tourism. This is building on last year’s successful Food Sovereignty forum where we listened to meaningful stories from our local biodynamic organic farmers and producers and First Nation’s voices.

To spice things up a little more, waiters are in attendance to pass around food snacks and plates from Billinudgel-based Rosefina’s inspired Mexican menu – think ceviche, tacos, totopos, quesadillas, tostadas, chicken mole and Mexican fried rice to set the tone, served from the onsite café and bar.
