Walking Together
About
This morning, you’re invited to a Walk on Country around the picturesque Fingal Headland with Uncle Franc Krasna, respected elder and cultural educator of the Goodjinburra clan of Bundjalung Nation.
You gather at Miimi’s Café, next door to the Fingal Surf Club for a coffee and a protein ball snack, before heading off for a guided cultural bush walk as Uncle Franc shares traditional knowledge, history and what it means to be connected to Country through lived experience and knowledge passed down through the generations, to give a deeper understanding and sense of connection for everyone, a vital step towards meaningful reconciliation through cooperation, community understanding and healing. Ocean to Plate – Wild and Farmed Seafood
About
Step onto the grass at Australian Bay Lobster Producers (ABLP), a pioneering Tweed-based seafood producer, for the first edition of a new on-site seafood pop-up created in partnership with chef Jay Elbrihi and local drink producers Caldera Brewing, Byroncello and Fruit Cartel.
Held outdoors on the ABLP Chinderah site, home to Australia's first land-based Bay Lobster aquaculture operation, this relaxed lunch unfolds in a casual canteen-style setting where guests can settle in for a local seafood-focused experience with drinks to match. This event offers an exclusive preview, one of the very first chances to try ABLP's crispy soft shell Bay Lobster, offered as a mouthwatering katsu sando with smoked lobster shell mayo, served alongside other wild-caught regional seafood.
The menu is brought to life by roving Tweed chef Jay Elbrihi, known for his expressive cooking and instinctive use of local produce. Expect a tight, focused offering that puts premium seafood and native ingredients front and centre, with soft shell Bay Lobster served just metres from where it's grown.
Guests can settle at an outdoor table as Jay serves a trio of imaginative seafood tastes. One locally produced canned drink is included in the ticket price, with more available if you'd like to keep the mood going. Beer, Gyoza and Living Systems
About
There are meaningful and enduring relationships being fostered at Raven Place Farm in Clothiers Creek, where community-focused regenerative farming and wildlife thrive together. Come for the house-made Japanese gyoza, exceptional local saison beer, and a behind-the-scenes farm experience unlike any other. Join Raven Place's Michelle Kuramochi for an afternoon celebrating the flavours, people and collaborations that make the Northern Rivers such a special place to live and farm.
Begin with a guided walk, meeting the people who help create a thriving living system where food production, wildlife and community work together.Along the way, hear from farmers Jamie and Bec Waldron of Limpinwood Layers, producers of pasture-raised eggs; and local owl whisperer David Brooks of Wild BnB, who cares for the resident owls and shares the important role wildlife plays within the farm ecosystem.
After the farm walk, settle in for a curated tasting of house-made Japanese gyoza paired with Saison beers from Caldera Brewing & Blending Co. South Murwillumbah brewer Nick Loeve is renowned for his small batch, barrel aged and mixed culture beers, crafted using locally sourced organic and regeneratively grown ingredients that reflect the character of our region.
